Walking off with Ali, Soraya turned with an elegant smile, "For guards as handsome as you two? I will see if I run into them, in honor of your brave duty in keeping us safe."

Turning back she walked off, making sure to walk ahead of Ali. Once they were more than out of earshot, she spoke up quietly, though without looking back, "Now comes the tricky part; Getting you into my room without being seen. If you follow my directions, I think I can be enough of a distraction to get you to the trellis I use to climb up and down from my balcony. You will just need to be quick, and relatively quiet."

"Hrm." Ali gave her a sidelong glance, smiling just a little. "Climbing, I can do. As for being quiet... well, I used to be. But that was when I was about half the size I am now. I'm not sure I have the gift for it anymore."

He shrugged easily, broad shoulders rising and falling. "But what's life without a little risk, eh? And I should very much like to see your room." Another sidelong smile.

"I would very much like you to see it to! ...if you're worried about being heard, I can ramp up my distraction. I do know how to be... distracting, if I want to be. ...we'll go in the back gate, here we go."

The back gate ended up being an imposing, locked, wrought iron thing, set in a wall that was at least twelve or fiften feet high. On this back path there was no guards... but the decorative spikes on the wall and fence looked sharp enough, and the wrought iron gate more than sturdy. Besides, even if they weren't outside, it was easy enough to see the grounds INSIDE the walls DID have guards, particularly around the house itself.

Otherwise, this "back yard" was absolutely enormous; The grounds between the wall and house stretched on for hundred of meters containing a garden, a shady orchard, a broad pool fed by a fountain, a gazebo, and various small green grass lawns that must have cost a small fortune to water alone. Stop Ali behind her and mostly out of sight, she pointed to a large balcony overlooking the pool. It was lined with plants, and had an open air lounge beneath it filled with sedans, books, and pieces of art. Also a few guards that stood in the shade of said balcony, watching over the yard and the stairs that lead up into the house.



"That is my bedroom there, on the second story. That trellis on the right end of it is the easiest way up or down, though you'll definitely be exposed while you're on it. I will have to go distract Joab and Solomon since they are keeping watch, but I'd still try to be somewhat quiet so none of the guards on the upper floors decide to look out a window. Or any servants. Got it?"

(Climbing the trellis, not so hard: Athletics/Strength (Climbing) TN 15
Doing so in broad daylight on a guarded estate without being seen is another story: Stealth/Agility (Sneaking) TN25

Raises on the Athletics roll can reduce the TN of Stealth by 5 per successful raise as you climb quickly and are in the open for less time. Failure increases the TN by 5 plus 5 per failed raise

Soraya can attempt to assist with a distraction
Acting/Awareness TN15 - Faking a fall and an injury while knocking over things to make noise, etc
Sincerity/Awareness (Deceit) TN20 - 'Hey, look over there!'
Perform/Awareness or Agility depending on skill TN25 - Hoping for a good enough performance to distract everyone while not raising suspicion that you just randomly started singing and/or dancing

Raises will reduce the TN of Stealth by 5 on success and per raise. Failure does not penalize the Stealth roll but may have other consequences.)

Ali couldn't help but look a little stunned at the sheer size and wealth of the estate. "Goodness. You could fit my whole building inside those grounds. No, more than that." He shook his head. "Three of them, at least."

He turned to look at her. "Alright. Up the trellis, in through there, once you've distracted them." He flashed her a grin, his eyes alight. "And I have every faith in your ability to command attention when you wish to, princess."

They stood close enough that she could sense the tension in his muscular form, ready to move. "Okay. I'll give you a fifty-count. Ready when you are." A firm nod.

This plan would totally work. Now she just needed to be distracting. But what to do?

Having unlocked the door with her key and let Ali in, she locked it behind her and went over to the gazebo. Looking up over the house, she suddenly gasped loudly enough for Joab and Solomon to hear, pointing over the house where they wouldn't be able to see from their posts.

"By the Goddess, is that a Roc flying over the city?!?"

...she was not very convincing, especially to two men who had known her since she was still getting piggyback rides from them.

Ali could climb, and he could climb fast. That part wasn't a problem. He was up the trellis reasonably quickly.

What he wasn't was quiet. Maybe if he had still been the size he was ten years ago, but extra muscles meant extra wait. And that meant more noise than was a good idea outside a Dahabi mansion...

Joab sighs as he looks to Soraya and then to the figure just finishing climbing the trellis.

"I will assume, with this display, that we are not under attack and that is not another kidnapper."

He looks to the other guard, "Solomon, go see our guest out... through the door this time."

The large man runs a hand through his hair as he sighs again, his lip still healing from where it was split the other day, as the other heads into the estate.

"Sayyeda... Soraya... I know you chafe under your father's restrictions. I know you're an adult now. But you can't be doing things like this." He looks towards the window to her room, "What if a maid had been in cleaning. If she had screamed about an intruder. He would be dead before you could even explain what was happening. You need to think these things through."

Another sigh and he does look apologetic, "Too many eyes are here. I will have to tell your father what happened. I can try to see to it that his name is misheard but that's the best I can do."

(Regardless of other outcomes by the end of the afternoon the trellis is removed)

Soraya pouted, cheeks puffed out, "But, but... he's my boyfriend! Aren't you supposed to look the other way for young love? Even if, and maybe BECAUSE father forbids it? So romantic, so daring?"

She watched them escorting Ali out and starting to take down the trellis, giving a little finger wave to Ali with a smile before looking back at Joab and instantly resuming the royal pout.

"All the more reason not to get him killed."

Boyfriend? Well at least he's not a Ra'Shari.
