[Early Afternoon, River Quarter] Composing and Composed (Expecting)

[Kezia]

"Well, I'm not sure how much more I know about it."

She gave a wry grimace which transitioned to a grin.

"But I suppose I'll get my chance to see... So. Who what do I owe the pleasure of this meeting? What brings you down to the river today?"

[Qasim al-Basiri]

Qasim chuckled "You did not strike me as the overly modest type Kezia but as you said we shall see." he shifted slightly smiling to her, straight white teeth contrasted his dark sun tanned skin "As to our meeting here today i believe the winds of fate are responsible, I was simply out for a walk to enjoy the afternoon sun and cooling breeze from the river. What brings you out here? Just looking for a quiet place to work?"

[Kezia]

"A pleasant place to work is more important than a quiet one- at least in my field of endeavor. And few places in the city are more pleasant than the riverside."

[Qasim al-Basiri]

"Indeed I can understand that, I just know I myself like the quiet when I am writing." He glanced at the writing she was working on "and what is it that you are writing this afternoon?"

[Kezia]

"An... instructional song. Something to teach."

She half-smiled.

"Something of a cautionary element to it as well."

[Qasim al-Basiri]

"Oh? Are you something of a wise woman as well as an archer and dancer? So many talents and beautiful on top of it all, you seem to be a rare woman Lella." He said with a teasingly flirtatious tone.

"What may I ask is the warning of this cautionary song?"

[Kezia]

She grinned in a way that made something of a lie out of the first sentence she spoke in reply.

"Flattery will get you nowhere, Sidi, but never stop trying. It's about gratitude... it's to be about a well-fed guard dog who needs the help of a stray dog and a pair of alley cats to do his job."

[Qasim al-Basiri]

He chuckled a little at her response "I find that rarely to be true Kezia but I have been told I am nothing if not persistent." He winked at her before moving on.

"An interesting tale indeed! Surely it will be rather popular with children as they tend to love reading stories about animals doing human things. Tell me, what inspired the idea for such a story?"

[Kezia]

"Oh, simply some recent events..."

In fact, the rumors going around about the incident in question rather occluded the role of the "guard dog," but she wasn't too fussed about that. Rumors came and went, but catchy children's songs? Those might well outlive the Caliph!

"Something of a personal nature, in truth, but I find that assists with the artistic drive."
