[Ali ibn Farid]

"Well, I know a little." Ali said modestly. "But there's knowing and then there's doing. We'll see how I manage the latter."

He looked at Aydi. "Detective? You work as a detective, friend?"

[Aydi al-Qais]

"I do! I am not too accomplished yet, but I am getting there." He chuckled.

[Tarset Kishan]

She let a sly smirk creep onto her lips. "You could always be known for both. Aydi, the great archer detective."

[Aydi al-Qais]

"Solving cases with an arrowshot? That seems quite expeditious, if not entirely duly diligent!" He grinned in amusement, rejoicing at a moment of some light conversation.

[Ali ibn Farid]

"Archer detective. I like the sound of that." Ali said, amused, brushing his hair back with one hand.

He waved a hand. "But if you're not an archer, I suppose you'll have to find something else. Any interesting cases? I work for the guard, sometimes." He grimaced as he said it; the guard didn't have the best reputation, after all.

[Aydi al-Qais]

"So do I, perhaps for similar reasons to yours, Sidi Ali." Aydi admitted. "I am sure that by the end of the day something is going to come up. It always does when an occasion provides a stir."

[Ali ibn Farid]

"Hmmm..." Ali nodded. "Well, if you do find something for the right cause, and a stalwart friend would help, I'd be at your service. I've done a bit of detecting myself... not that I'd call myself such." He waved a dismissive hand. "But sometimes a strong sword-arm is as good as another pair of eyes, eh?"

[Aydi al-Qais]

"Certainly it is! I will remember this, Sidi Ali. Where can you be found if a call of this kind needs to be made?"

[Ali ibn Farid]

Ali grunted, considering. "My home is on the edge of the Maze. Even then, it's not easy to find things in the Maze... even for a detective." His smile was playfully friendly.

After a moment, he nodded. "But I will be taking part in the tournament, or watching if I'm eliminated. Look for me there. Or, if there's some reason that it won't work, post a bill for me here." As a natural meeting place, the temple did have a spot where notices could be posted.

[Nasim ibn Jalil]

Nasim's eyebrows perked at the mention that both of the other men were part-timers in the city guard. While those two seemed to be fine with their lot Nasim had to hide a brief frown. He was content to let the conversation flow without him for the moment.
