[Day 4 LE] Respite before Undead Spite (Expecting)

[Claudia Gabinus]

The Yodotai nervously glances at a seemingly empty empty corner of the room.
"Uhh, or a wonderful blessing that we have the wisdom of the past with us."

"Sometimes our ancestors stay with us and even fight alongside us. It seems that other peoples' don't have the same thing. Many of our battles have been won as we fought alongside our forbearers."

[Raya]

"I see. Why do they stay? Do they not trust future people? In Ra'shari, we leave stories behind for future people to learn from, and stories are passed on from people to people so that we always can learn from past. I am not sure how it would be if one stayed behind to share stories as ghost, would feel like...how you say, cheating the end? All live and all die, and next people continue on from older people who no longer with us."

Raya frowned as she thought on it.

"I am thinking if they fight with you they are still of body enough to strike?"

[Claudia Gabinus]

"Uhhh, sometimes. Or maybe it's because their work is not yet done? I have been told it is part of a sense of duty. Ours tell stories but not like your people, so perhaps it is not quite cheating."
Another nervous glance.

"Yes, when they manifest they are present enough to strike or wound their foes, it is as if they are truly here."

[Raya]

Raya had finally noticed the glancing.

"Sayyeda is doing much looking. Is one of ghosts here with us? Is not meaning to cause offense if there is. It is just how Ra'Shari live and die, life is life and death is death. If elder stays long time to help youth is not bad thing, but would be unusual for elder to stay after dying."

[Claudia Gabinus]

With only the fainest hint of weariness.
"Yes, grandfather is always with me. He isn't offended, but he does think your customs are very...foreign."
She sighs.
"But that is not unusual, and he appreciates the honour you have done a fallen soldier."

[Raya]

"Ra'Shari ways are very different, but we have many cultures in Ra'Shari. All are welcome with us after all, and many people from many places have become Ra'Shari. Am thinking even some Yodotai."

Raya paused at that, then looked down at the blades.

"Sidi Rufus had one that he liked. One of my sister who is not in city, will have to tell her that he is dead. She will not be back for long while though."

[Claudia Gabinus]

"Even some Yodotai?" Claudia frowns slightly. "Do they worship as the Ra'Shari do? Or keep to the Yodotai faith?"
She winces slightly at the mention of Rufus' loss.

[Raya]

"In Ra'Shari, we do not force change of faith. Ra'Shari have no central faith, those who are or join Ra'Shari write their own stories" Raya smiled "it is our way, we are family but we are not controlling. We are free people."

[Claudia Gabinus]

"Oh I see."
There's a pause.

"The Yodotai are also very accepting, anyone can become one of us. But they must learn the language and worship as we do or..."
She runs a finger across her throat.

"It might be good if you tell no-one else of any Yodotai among your people.

[Raya]

There was a look of surprise.

"Is bad for Yodotai to leave people? Even if loving another?"
