Day 5, LM - A New Start (closed)

[Soraya al-Menjari]

Sora giggled softly, shaking her head, "You just pounced me onto your present Raya. It won't be damaged though, it's not fragile. I'm utterly and completely fine not moving from this position if it means a happy Raya full of joy, no? Besides, you have a very plush bed, so it's sunk down into it a little. And I'm in no particular hurry to give it to you when I have the best present Lady Shilah has every graced her light on in my arms."

[Raya]

"You have present? But I am thinking you visiting is already the best present I could have got today" Raya said with a small laugh, giving Soraya another quick kiss before sitting up slightly and closing her eyes, leaving her straddling the woman but far enough back that Soraya could sit up slightly if need be.

"If it is surprise I cannot see, so you can be moving it so it is not under your back now. Although it is worse not seeing you, so am counting down from 5."

Sora sat up a bit and kissed Raya; This accomplished the goal of not letting her see even if she opened her eyes, and getting a kiss from the woman she loved. After a moment Sora broke the kiss, just as Raya would feel something set in her hands, Sora speaking softly.

"You... can open your eyes now."

On Raya's hands was a flat lacquer box, about five centimeters tall and about ten by ten square otherwise. It was a plain box with white lacquer and a latch on it, with a lock.

Being an honest girl (sometimes) she did indeed intend to keep her eyes closed and not peek! At least not openly. So she didn't see the kiss coming and was slightly surprised, but she did lean slightly into it after a moment to return the kiss. Leaving her stuck in darkness when Soraya pulled back, but being allowed to open her eyes she did. Looking down at the box in her hands.

There was a curious look as she lifted it, looking at it from each side. Admiring the work on it, a little confused why she was being given a box but not questioning.

"Is a really pretty box! You picked for me?" She checked the lock to see if it was locked or if she could open it.

The key was in the lock, though Sora nodded to the question, "That's right, I did. Though it's mainly for the thing inside of it~"

[Raya]

"Oh! I was thinking the box was the gift! It is a very nice box."

Raya looked a little embarrassed, turning the key in the lock to open it and look at the actual gift.

Inside the box was a butterfly hairpin, a silver thing with intricate but sturdy design.



"I was... I was thinking; Raya always wears her hair loose and flowing like it is now. But what if she wants to wear it up at all? Does she have any pins or such for her hair? And when I saw this butterfly, I knew it would be perfect for you..."

Oddly, there was also a small envelope below the pin, folded into the bottom of the box.

[Raya]

Raya looked at the hairpin with a slightly stunned look.

"Wow....it is beautiful. Really really beautiful! I am wanting to wear it right away" She ran fingers through her air and winced slightly "ah, I am needing to brush first I am thinking."

She reached over to get a very old looking hairbrush, starting to brush through her hair.

"I had never thought of wearing my hair up, am always just having it out and flowing in the wind. Do you think it will suit?"

[Soraya al-Menjari]

"Suit you? Absolutely."

Sora's voice had a lot of conviction behind it.

"Raya is Raya, and Raya will always be beautiful to me. And your hair in particular seems like it could be really flexible to do whatever you wanted to with it. Even if it needs a good combing," she says with a small giggle, watching Raya brush the curly tangled brown mess.

[Raya]

Raya beamed a bright smile at the compliment, between wincing on knots in her hair.

"My hair is being rebellious a lot of the time, but I have never been thinking of much style. Now you are seeing how hard it is to keep tame for times where it is looking good yes?"

After a short while she turned her back to Soraya and handed her the brush.

"I am wanting Soraya to style it in the image she is thinking."
