Fun and Games (LE, Throughout the City, Event)
While under the watchful eye of Lady Sun, even at her merciful, the devout play games for fun and camaraderie. As her gaze shifts away though many turn to games of chance and wager hoping to pad their purses.

Characters may delve into games of chance in the hopes of making some coin.
Wager: A wager may be any amount, from 1 pool up to many copper, but you may only wager an amount you have in your possession. Your wager must be noted in the first roll you make for this event. Rolls without wagers listed will not count.
Cheat (Optional):
Roll Sleight of Hand/Agility TN15. Although a fixed TN this is considered an opposed roll for advantages/disadvantages/techniques.
Success and each successful raise give a free raise on your Play roll.
Failure forfeits your wager, failure with raises also causes +0.1 Infamous Reputation per raise and 1k1 damage as your character is roughly escorted out.
Characters with Idealistic or Can't Lie cannot take this option.
Bluff (Optional):
Roll Sincerity(Deceit)/Awareness TN15. Although a fixed TN this is considered an opposed roll for advantages/disadvantages/techniques.
Success and each successful raise give a free raise on your Play roll.
Failure requires a raise called to no effect on your Play roll and another for each failed raise. If this puts the requirement higher than the number of raises you can legally call you automatically fail the Play roll and suffer the consequences as if you had rolled with that many raises.
Characters with Can't Lie increase the TN by 5 and cannot benefit from the Deceit emphasis.
Play:
Choose one of the games below and roll vs TN10 (other gambling games may be acceptable). Characters with Greedy must call at least one raise.

Games: Dominoes/Intelligence
Games: Fortunes and Winds/Awareness
On success you gain one Night Point and the amount of your wager plus one additional Night Point and multiple of your wager for each raise not triggered by Bluff and/or Consumed: Perfection.
On a failed roll you lose your wager plus a multiple of your wager for each failed called raise (free raises do not contribute to this penalty, forced raises from Bluff and/or Consumed: Perfection do). If you do not have enough to pay this increased amount you gain the Debt, Obligation, or Sworn Enemy disadvantage depending on how your character deals with their failure.

Now games during the day were fun but these games were so much more and not only because Qasim was a bit of a high roller. The man placed the last month of profits from the shop on the game and it seemed the Trader did indeed look over him as he not only won but tripled that money.

The strange feeling in the air made him uneasy the whole day - and his encounter with someone who was ready to make the day harder for someone and was not ready to change their mind on the subject did little to put his mind more at ease. He had that eerie feeling that bad things might be about to happen later - even though he had no idea how bad... but he still decided to go out and at least try to take his mind off everything for a while.
He went for a simple game of backgammon. He knew all too well Mekhem's teachings were critical of gambling... but for those with little to their name, could one really blame them?
He had little to wager himself, in fact... but he could spare at least a bit. If he lost, with some luck the pool would help a soul in need find some food - if he won, that might mean some more medical supplies for later. One way or another, not a terrible prospect.
And won he did! A fair, direct game, no great strategy involved, but it was enough.
Little did he know the earnings would actually have to be spent on another headscarf since his old one would be lost while running from wandering souls not long after that...

Nihira joined the table and slapped down her only copper with a smile on her face to play some bones. Sure, she didn't exactly know how to play dominoes, but she did know you could line them up and watch them all fall over which was fun. How different could the actual game be?

Cassim lurks and preys upon a group that doesn't know him too well. It takes time to fade into the background...and unfortunately he doesn't have the best table for riling up. But he's an old hand at this by now, and bleeding the unwary for coin they can afford to lose is something he knows well.
