Day 1, Late Evening, Caravan of Entertainment (Desert) - Cool Nights

[Kezia]

"I do not know what I am after. Something new, novel. After all, one can hear music and stories at any party, and see dancing. Or have some woman offer to read your palm. Is there something that only the Caravan can offer?"

Kezia grinned.

"I would argue that our songs, dances, stories, and fortunetelling are all something beyond the ordinary, but it sounds like you're after something in particular. Something highly specific..."

[Raya]

"To walk among the Ra'Shari is to walk among nothing else in this world. In the city there are expectation, names and titles. Here we celebrate life, we enjoy life and everything is bright. If Sayyeda wishes something unique, she has found it" Raya motioned around them "what does Sayyeda wish the most? What does her heart cry for the most? Perhaps to dance? To sing? To join us in a story?"

She peered over to Kezia with a grin then back.

"I feel a story. Do you sister?"

[Aydi al-Qais]

The omen wiped off the usual smirk of Aydi's face, and his forehead furrowed, showing fault lines not unlike those on his father's. He had to warn her, whoever she in fact was. The women were deep in their conversation, however, so for now he didn't intrude upon it, just kept thinking if there was something more he could do.

[Kezia]

"Only one story? I feel dozens..."

[Soraya al-Menjari]

Kezia grinned.

"Only one story? I feel dozens..."

"What I wish for more than anything in the world... I..."

Soraya thought a moment, looking back and forth between the two women, "I wish for adventure. I have grown up hearing and reading stories of far off lands and heroic people, saving the day and finding priceless treasure. To feel the thrill of something so exciting and grand... oh, it would be such a change from the stuffy old palace and the same old servants and guards."

She seemed most passionate about this, yes.

"So even if it is only a piece of that, such stories and unusual things, things that can't be experienced in just any old book, you see?"

[Kezia]

"What I wish for more than anything in the world... I..."

Soraya thought a moment, looking back and forth between the two women, "I wish for adventure. I have grown up hearing and reading stories of far off lands and heroic people, saving the day and finding priceless treasure. To feel the thrill of something so exciting and grand... oh, it would be such a change from the stuffy old palace and the same old servants and guards."

"So even if it is only a piece of that, such stories and unusual things, things that can't be experienced in just any old book, you see?"

"Then you have come to the right place, because in our travels, we see and do all sorts of things..."

Some of them she could even talk about!

"I take it, then, that Sayyeda hasn't done much traveling?"

[Soraya al-Menjari]

"Oh. Well, you see, father only so rarely lets me out of the manor. Occasionally I can head out through the merchant district if I wish to visit a friend or go shopping, but I must be accompanied and not stray from where I say I am going, on my word."

A sharp nod.

"This whole Fest of Arrows is a first for me, really. Since I have turned eighteen father promised me this opportunity to explore a bit more, though he did have some guidelines, of course."

[Aydi al-Qais]

Aydi couldn't be sitting on his hands forever; it was disingenuous. He walked up to the talking women, announced himself first with a cleared throat, then greeted by pressing his hand against his heart.

"As-salamu alaykum, fair sayyedas. I am terribly sorry to disturb your conversation, but there's something I have to relay without delay." He bowed to the one of them that looked like a princess most likely because she was one. "Please don't ask me how I would realise such thing, but until next sundown you might come to be in a terrible peril. Whatever you plan on doing, please be careful and take precautions."

[Raya]

"Oh. Well, you see, father only so rarely lets me out of the manor. Occasionally I can head out through the merchant district if I wish to visit a friend or go shopping, but I must be accompanied and not stray from where I say I am going, on my word."

"Oh, oh no. A beautiful young woman locked in her home by a father, too afraid to let his princess see the beauty of the world around them. You are with Ra'Shari now though, and we have seen all. Night is not the best time to explore, but I do know of a very interesting place nearby" Raya grinned "for now though?"

She looked to Kezia then back at the woman.

"How about the story of Danior? It is a famous old Ra'Shari tale of adventure."

"As-salamu alaykum, fair sayyedas. I am terribly sorry to disturb your conversation, but there's something I have to relay without delay." Raya tilted her head, curious, then laughed and clapped.

"Sidi! What perils? The Ra'Shari fear no peril, we dance forward into the sun knowing every step could be the last one. In the end, everything lives and everything dies. Still, we shall take your words to heart and remember them. Thank you, kind stranger" she gave the man a bow.

Ooo... very exciting stuff. Words about stories and freedom AND peril. Though the Ra'Shari woman did not seem to know the one coming up to them with the ominous warning, "Oh my, danger? Peril?"

She looked at the pretty woman who had just spoken about the story of Danior, "But this sounds like something out of a story too, no? A mysterious fortune teller offers a cryptic warning, which the heroine ignores. Only to step into danger when they least expect it!"

Sora turned to the man with the fez, "I... don't suppose the being cryptic part is actually a requirement, is it? If I had a place or more exact time, I could plan my day around the peril, you see..."
