It was a bad idea. Venturing into the Sewers was always a bad idea. But, Zara had noticed something the previous night, something that needed to be looked into. The smart decision would have been to send someone else or, at the least, find others to go with her. But, that required a level of trust she didn't possess.
Fortunately, she slipped in and out of the Sewers quickly, locating more information while avoiding any dangers.

Re: The Hungry City 2 (LA, The Sewers, Event)
He knew something was amiss. He'd seen signs of it, even before the madness of the previous night. But he knew he'd have to come down here to investigate.
And that he did. He tried his best to keep his eyes focused, his ears attuned, all his senses keen on any sigsn of what could be going on as he made his way through the tunnels, with careful, quiet steps, keeping to the shadows.
It didn't take long for him to find something, at least. But... would that be enough to make sense of all that was going on?
He decided to press further, feet cautious, steps ever so light. It took him a good while, and he was starting to feel wary about some sounds he heard in the distance, when he finally found something else.
Would that be enough?
It was hard to be sure... he would have to stop, examine all that again, think about it. And... if possible, talk about it with someone.
But later. Things sounded like they might get dangerous if he pressed his luck further. He'd done that a bit too often the past two days... so maybe taking it easier today might be the smart thing to do.
Besides, there just might be something else to do later...

Re: The Hungry City 2 (LA, The Sewers, Event)
Well okay then, the sewers it was. Nihira dropped in and immediately got her peepers to work on looking for potential clues, all while trying to keep the splashing to a minimum.
The Search - Investigation/Perception TN10 1 raise to TN15 rolled 20
Stay Unnoticed - Stealth/Agility TN10 rolled 34
A bit more time, another clue. While Nihira didn't want to live down here, the sewers weren't that bad. Well that was mostly because she stayed quiet and didn't invite any trouble her way.
The Search Repeat - Investigation/Perception TN15 rolled 30
Stay Unnoticed Repeat- Stealth/Agility TN15 rolled 29
There was probably much more in the way of clues to gather, but Nihira felt like her time was up. At some point she would splash or make any other noise then it would be goodbye. Now...which way did she come in?
Exit? - Hunting/Intelligence unskilled void for +1k1 fr to lower TN by 5 - TN10 rolled 16

Re: The Hungry City 2 (LA, The Sewers, Event)
The investigators find many strange and disturbing things within the sewers though thankfully they avoid meeting them face to face. Where once the threat were the undead remnants of mortal souls they seem to have been displaced by other, stranger monsters. Vicious ghul-beasts - crocodiles, gorillas, jackals, and others - prowl the sewers. They witness them territorially attacking more traditional ghuls, though never each other even when of different species, and driving those ghuls they do not destroy from the sewers.
It seems this is the source of the ghul attack on the surface, and the strange wounds many of those ghuls were sporting, not an intentional strike or invasion but predators fearing and fleeing something even higher up the food chain... well, as much of a food chain there can be when one eats only due to cursed unending hunger and not to survive.
But, still, that was only part of the explanation. Although tales suggest ghuls can spontaneously arise from among the dead most are the intentional creation of foul magics. Further no tale yet heard, even among necromancers, had told of any but human shells being imbued with this dark hunger. Some new force or method was at play with their creation.
Working inward from where these new ghul-beasts were the most populous the investigators finally narrow down a section of the sewer where this force's lair must be.
Regrouping and sharing information with those they trust, and meeting others through that chain, they now need to plan their assault to end this threat... if they wish to be heroes that is. It could always be someone else's problem....
