Sun on the Water (LA, River, OPEN)

[Ali ibn Farid]

Smiling, Ali gave Kezia a vague sort of bow and wave, acknowledgement of her claim.

"Mmm. That's much the same reason I came here. Except without the singing." He looked out over the river once more. The sun was still visible, but the reds were growing darker, dimmer. Here and there, people were beginning to light lanterns, casting the nearby street in a different sort of red. "Sometimes you want a party, sometimes..." He gestured wordlessly out towards the water.

[Kezia]

"The silences let you appreciate the busy times."

[Ali ibn Farid]

Slowly, Ali nodded. "Perhaps they do." For a moment, it looked like he was going to say more, but then he shook his head.

He gave Kezia a nod. "Well. The day wears on. I don't mean to ramble on at you. No doubt we both have places to be, eh?" Ali said with a smile.

[Kezia]

"Eventually. I mean what I said- swing by the caravan while we're here. See if it alleviates any burdens for you."

[Ali ibn Farid]

Ali gave a firm nod. "Very well. I will. That's a promise."

He tilted his head, giving her a curiously look. "Believe it or not, I've never visited a Ra'Shari caravan before. Well, not since I was about this tall." He held up his hand, palm down, at about his waist. "What should I expect?" His tone was a little playful, a little curious.

[Kezia]

"What should I expect?" His tone was a little playful, a little curious.

"Now that... would be telling. But I suppose I could give you a hint..."

She held up an index finger.

"Fun."

[Ali ibn Farid]

Ali's eyebrows went up in anticipation... he laughed as she gave her answer.

He bowed again. "Very well, Kezia. Soon I shall visit your caravan. I look forward to seeing what sort of fun there is to be had."

He straightened. "Until then?"

[Kezia]

"Take care, Ali ibn Farid. Happy trails and pleasant nights."

[Ali ibn Farid]

Ali didn't understand the words, but sometimes that didn't matter. "You too, Kezia." He said, smiling.

He glanced over his shoulder once as he walked away, back into the heart of the city.
