Tales of the Jewel

A small shop about a block off the bazaar stands out in the night. It has no ground floor windows, and a set of bars on the only entrance. The upper windows, including a small balcony that over hangs the front of the shop, are manned with refugees with long sticks as torches line the balcony and the living are invited inside to huddle and heal from the attack on the city. Amongst those inside is the proprietor, as he attempts to treat the wounds of his best friend.

There's the sound of a deep voice shouting angrily in a strange language as a....ghost? Enters the store. They seem to be carrying an olive skinned woman bleeding heavily from a series of slashes and bites to her neck and shoulder, the foreigner having gone very pale under their tan.

"By the ancestors, do none of you barbarians speak Yodotai?!?"
From the shared look between the refugees, it seems not.

With an angry grunt the spectre sets his ward down on a table and starts furiously miming sewing up her injuries. Before vanishing with a final 'I'm watching you' gesture.

Asher heard the ghost speak in a language he doesn't use often, he calls out, in Yodatai "In here" arriving just in time to see the ghost vanish, blinking and shaking his head he steps over and treats the woman's wounds.

Claudia's eyes flutter open.

"Grandfather? Where?" With a wince she looks around the room. "I.." She looks down at the bandages.
"This is surprisingly good work."

Then she clutches her had as her grandfather starts berating her.
"Yes Grandfather I am slow....yes Grandfather, I was clumsy...yes Grandfather a child could have parried better."

"Just wanted to make sure your insides stayed inside, didn't want you getting up and eating anyone" He smiles and waves for someone to bring over some water for her as he rises, and checks on other refugees.
