(The Cat's Tail EM) Yawning cats

[Bazir]

''They are more likely to come bother you if you show too much interest in their games.'' he joked ''Will you take something to eat along with your coffee?''

[Ide Rettousei]

"I could eat," Rettousei replies. "What goes well with coffee?"

[Bazir]

''Many things, sayyed, but I will bring you our signature fattoush salad'' he replies ''This will help you cleanse your palate between each sip. Coffee is strong and it take some time before getting used to the taste.''

He gestured to an alcove

''Take a seat. I will be with you shortly''

[Ide Rettousei]

"Thank you," Rettousei says, and he takes his seat.

I wonder what it'll be like, he thinks.

[Bazir]

It will take a few minute for Bazir to return, leaving the unicorn with the sounds of the bickering players in another alcove. Eventually, however, the shop owner would come back with a tray for both food and drink



''Here is the fattoush and here is the coffee''



Bazir put the cup down and poured for the man

''Take a sip, sayyed. We will adjust the taste to your liking''

[Ide Rettousei]

Rettousei leans forward, breathes it in.

"That smells lovely!" he says, smiling, and he gingerly takes up the cup--a little awkwardly, the style of it being unfamiliar--and sips.

HIs eyes widen.

"This is a blessed place, to have such things!"

[Bazir]

Well...that was certainly not the reaction he had expected. In good humor, Bazir took a seat opposite to the other man.

''If you like it pure then you must be a natural sayyed. Not many take it black, especially foreigners.''

[Ide Rettousei]

"Really?"

Rettousei takes another sip.

"I mean, the flavor is a strong one, yeah, but it's so good!"

His eyes narrow slightly, eyebrows hunch. The confusion sets in.

"What do they do with it, then?"

[Bazir]

This one surely is a handful

He new arrivals never ceased to amuse him. Perhaps it was because of exotic nature of their own upbringing or his love for the Jewel despite al of it's flaws...who could say.

''Most of the time they add milk, sugar or some spice to their brews to alter the taste.''

[Ide Rettousei]

"I might try some of that on another cup," Rettousei says. "Maybe it would be better. But this is really, really good!"

He looks at the salad and adds "This looks good, too."

Then he scans the tray. "Um...how do you eat it?"
