As in, free of charge. And you know what they say: If it's free, then you're the product.

Or maybe we don't live in Adam Smith's sick version of the world and not everything is a financial transaction.

You DO know Kezia found Al-Haddar adorable, right?

How well did the pistachio sales go?

Plan on bringing him back for more low-rent bargaining?

I do, but my somewhat inconsistent posting schedule, coupled with a lack of organization and planning (I definitely should have sent a few more PMs to arrange things in advance), sadly prevented me from giving a lot of plot threads the attention they deserved.

I actually didn't keep track of narratively sold pistachios, treating them as if they were part of Al-Haddar's ordinary income and thus eventually evening out with his daily expenses.

Qui vivra verra.

I had a very good time in our thread! It was good light humor, slice of life, that also managed to have some character moments in it.

It seemed like Al-Haddar had some interesting stuff going on! Haunted, I assume, but more than that. Can you give us any additional details on what was going on with him, and where that was going?

As far I know, Al-Haddar is pretty much what he looks like to be.

The thing is, I've deliberately kept the circumstances regarding his brother's death as vague as possible so the GM could go wild. In part because I don't really know the LBS setting well, but mostly because I've taken that Disadvantage too.

Technically, as a player, I'm not even sure it's really Al-Haddar's brother that's haunting him and not someone/something else.

Loved watching you run with that bit of plot.

Somewhat sorry to cheat you out of some prime haggling, I just knew our times for posting have a very wee bit of crossover and I was heading into the workweek...Greatly enjoyed the conversation there.

Also, for not knowing the LBS setting, you were great for making up random shit in the background of the city that help make it feel lived in. (often a role I like to run with, so it was fun to see someone else's version).

Anything you'd have built differently with a bit more time in the system/setting now?

Not really. I wanted to play a simple character to test the sand, and Al-Hadaar could hardly be simpler both mechanically and storywise. I might be tempted by a more complex concept later, but Had' is good as he is for the purpose he was designed.

That... is an impressively interesting answer!
