Trade is the lifeblood of Medinaat al-Salaam and the Merchant Quarter is the beating heart that keeps that vital trade flowing. Home to the estates of the Houses of Dahab as well as the vast Thoroughfare, more commonly called the Bazaar, it is the richest, largest, as well as most well guarded and patrolled Quarter of the city.

They say any goods in the known world can be found among the markets of Medinaat al-Salaam if one searches hard enough. If this is an exaggeration it is not much of one.

While busiest in morning and evening the busy Merchant Quarter never sleeps and merchants of all sorts can be found hawking their wares here at all hours under the watchful eye of city guards and Dahabi Enforcers. Given the sheer number of shops, stalls, and vendors even the Dahabi do not hold a majority but they do control the largest, wealthiest, and most important shops. Those who rise high above the rest do not stay independent long....
