Tales of the Jewel

This keep was the first defensive structure constructed in the young city of Medinaat al-Salaam. As the city grew and the walls extended further and further out the Kasbah was beautified, though it does technically remain functional, and often served as a home for the Sultan's extended family.

With his ascension to Sultan Kedar al-Rassulii parted with tradition and relocated himself to dwelling within the Kasbah. Some whisper he did so to protect himself from the Caliph though the walls of the Kasbah would surely provide but a minor obstacle to one of her power. Others whisper it is a slight against her - countered by the pleasure she seems to take in now having the entire Palace of Wonders to herself.
