Although the Merchant Quarter is home to most of the wealthy of Medinaat al-Salaam, and even the smallest homes are opulent, none rival the estates of the Houses of Dahab other than the Palace of Wonders itself. Even the Sultan's Kasbah does not yet hold a candle to any but the least of the lesser houses.

Lush gardens, vast fountains which use more water in a day than the average laborer can access in a year, and art from across the known world are on display at every turn. Equally on display are the Dahabi Enforcers who keep it safe and, sometimes, even the rare sighting of a pack of gorilla bodyguards. Only the bravest and most foolish thief would strike so deep and even the Assassins send only their best when seeking to make an example of a Dahabi on their home ground.

Access to the Houses is strictly controlled with the average Mekhamite or outsider not allowed entrance unless with a direct invitation.
