The grand bazaar of Medinaat al-Salaam is the crossroads of the known world. Centered between Rokugan, the Senpet Empire, the Ivory Kingdoms, and the recently contacted Yodotai it sees more trade than any other city despite the wastes around it.

Countless stalls and shops line the main Thoroughfare and alleys and streets split off regularly in an attempt to draw shoppers to any number of tucked away vendors and merchants. Even on the hottest day, when Shilah's gaze is most wrathful, the Thoroughfare throngs with merchants hawking their wears and those eager to snap up what they have to offer.

Though the bazaar attracts merchants from all corners of the world none dispute its truest masters are the Houses of Dahab and those who serve them. The Thoroughfare is the cornerstone of their wealth and power and thanks to it even the Caliph treats the Dahabi with a respect few others are granted.
