So, like, if you get two ranks of Fatigue from this event, you suffer from a +10 to each and every roll until your next full sleep?

To be sure I get it right:
Raises increase the Night points, but do not reduce the number of rounds of the race (which therefore cannot be completed in less than three rounds).
There is no additional penalty for failing with raises (as opposed to failing without calling them) on the Athletics rolls, but there is on the Hunting rolls.

Correct, which is why there's no shame to bow out (other than after the TN5 roll, and even that a very minor one). Some of the fanatically pious will ruin themselves trying to complete it but very few go to that extreme. Either they are durable enough to make the full round or they stop when they feel at their limit.

Correct. Failing Athletics you just end up going slower than other racers but are still on target. Failing Hunting you can get yourself lost.

You can use the slot for it but it would need to be a separate roll (to avoid 2 for 1 on Void)

Correct - subtle casting would apply if you don't want those present to know you are a sahir. It's up to you whether that's a concern or not.

On this - would covering your face (e.g. with this, as described by Al-Haddar's player, or using a Keffiyeh to cover the face as well as the head) provide any help at all with this, or help you not be recognised?
