What the public know:

The Qabal were the masters of mysticism and magic. Great scholars who sometimes deigned to share that knowledge even with the common people. Unfortunately their hubris led them to openly challenge and rebel against the Immortal Caliph and her Khadi and they were crushed without mercy. If there were any survivors surely they have fled for their lives or have given up their practices to hide within the city.

What the Qabal know:

While it is true that the failed uprising has shattered the Qabal they have not given up on Medinaat al-Salaam or reclaiming their power. Some have hidden among the Ra'Shari to preserve and share their knowledge. Others have left the Sands but only to seek out new knowledge and power to return with. Most of the survivors have found refuge among the Dahabi trading their secrets and power for safety and security and swelling the ranks of the House Hazaad. The secret to defeating the Caliph, and regaining their position within the city, must exist out there somewhere and the Qabal will find it.
