The order was simple in concept yet exacting in specificity something that was not lost on Aydi as the server seemed to grow increasingly restless as he specified the temperature of the coffee, how many times it was to be stirred and in which direction, and at what angle the spoon should be left at... and a date square.

Aydi was happy to add "Make it double. Shukran." He added a premium to a usual rate for two coffees so that the request is taken seriously. Not that he expected his father to be satisfied anyway. But at least he might not make a scene.

Perhaps surprisingly the old man is cordial towards the server, even as he grumbles and arranges the spoon at the proper angle concerning cup and date square.

Though it would be a far stretch to call the moment pleasant, as they drink and eat, for he remains silent it is at least a moment of peace between father and son.

(Seems a place to wrap the scene unless Aydi had something he wanted to address)

Aydi was happy to see his father peaceful, less scornful than usual. He hoped their dog was alright and felt guilty for leaving him behind but hopefully Aydi had found the way home without adventures. They'd need to retrieve him as soon as Ayfat was ready to go.

Conversation about what Aydi's father had been after had to wait.
