Qasim smiles patiently "as I said we just have more of a conversation. Tell me about yourself, the things you like, how do you like to pass your time?"

[Soraya al-Menjari]

"Myself? Hm... well, nothing too special I think. I read, I take walks, play board and card games, play with my pets, tend to the family gardens at home, and take classes with the various tutors father hires. I... don't get out much, so I explore a lot around the manor, make my own little places."

[Qasim al-Basiri]

Qasim simply smiled and nodded along with her as she spoke. When she concluded he thought for a moment "very interesting, very interesting indeed. Reading is a favored pastime many places I possess many ancient and foreign texts and scrolls but no, no, those won't do. Exotic plants are beautiful but fleeting and tend to not thrive in the Jewel." He grew quiet for a few moments.

"You present me with a puzzle surely! I shall take some time to think on it and perhaps may need a few days to look about my stock and se if there is anything I think would be good for you." He clapped his hands "it has been a while since I've had a challenge certainly most people can be given a shiny necklace and sent on their way but for you I think something truly special is in order."

Sora looked at the man curiously as he gave his response, but certainly did not seem displeased with it.

"A little time is of no concern, of course. With things as they are with the competition anyways, I am sure I will have much on my mind the next few days. Hopefully that shall be enough time?"

[Qasim al-Basiri]

"I should hope so or I would bring shame onto the Basiri name. I have never had a dissatisfied customer and I do not plan to start now." He declared firmly but with some mirth still in his voice.

"So you said you don't leave your estate much, is your father the protective sort? Or do you simply enjoy staying home?"

[Soraya al-Menjari]

"The former, well and truly. Up until recently, I was his only child, and he calls me is "baby princess" and "desert flower". He usually does not let me out without escorts, nor allow me to talk to boys unaccompanied. I just hope this time he's given me now that I'm eighteen will prove to him that I can be trusted to look out for myself."

[Qasim al-Basiri]

Qasim chuckled a bit and studied Soraya a bit more closely his eyes moving up and down her form "Well I can't say I'm surprised, you're certainly prettier than any desert flower I've seen. I'm sure the boys would be all over you if your father didn't discourage it so." His voice had dropped slightly in pitch not obviously but a subtle shift in tone.

"Have you been making the most of your time away from his watchful eye I wonder?" He asked with a more devilish smirk as one eye brow raised questioningly.

The Princess blushed demurely and looked down at her tea, "I... suppose I would not be surprised if they were. I know how my girlfriends have talked about such things. Not to mention their talking to me about Dahabi boys that have expressed interest in my hand. As to your question..."

She looked up, still tinged a bit with a blush, "I am unsure yet. The first thing I did this morning was go down and have some breakfast by the river, and that was most thrilling. But I am unsure what else I shall do with my day."

Qasim chuckled the sound a little throaty as he kept his eyes on hers the look in them inviting he leaned slightly toward her a woody scent with notes of jasmine faintly brushed her nose. He looked down to her hand as his hand reached out and touched hers, gentle fingers running over the back of her hand and down her fingers "It is no surprise they would want such an exquisite hand, with such a flawless beauty attached to it." He said as his eyes looked back up to her.

He leaned back to his original position and took another sip of tea "it does sound like an exciting day for you but it could be so much more. The Jewel is truly full of possibilities" He smirked over his cup at her as he took another drink

Blushing intensified and the teacup shook in her hand a little.

"O-Oh really. Is there something Sir Qasim suggests then? I would hate to miss out on possibilities or opportunities that I might otherwise, at least if they are interesting and safe enough and all that."
