The city bustles with trade and activity throughout the day as merchants and laborers take advantage of the waning coolness of winter that makes even the afternoon sun almost comfortable... almost.
Even in these months that would be frigid in other lands the heat of noon is still oppressive and made worse by the growing humidity as the spring rains approach. Indeed there are short and light showers through the evening. Not enough to close up even the least stubborn booths or stalls on the Thoroughfare but enough to unexpectedly dampen clothes and skin with a welcome, if somewhat muddy, coolness. Hopefully those clothes have dried come nightfall though as Shilah steals away her heat as quickly as she forces it upon the city and the chill descends rapidly.
The Jewel, as always, is beset by no shortage of rumors and murmurings from scandal to ghost stories and everything in between but first and foremost is the low key interest in the upcoming archery event. When a Khadi as socially powerful as Majdala al-Rashid drops a stone in the sea of humanity that is Medinaat Al-Salaam the ripples are felt all the way to shore even over something as seemingly minor as an archery competition.
