Nasim raised his hands in defeat. "Bet as you will, but just don't come looking for me if you lose it all." He glanced at the giant of a woman. "Frankly I think you'd break me in two and then you'd never get your money back."

Tarset chuckled dryly at the comment. "Oh, I don't think I'd lose out on money that easily. Besides, if I DID bet on you, I'm certain the competition would show themselves poorly."

She glanced to Ali, winking. "Not that I don't believe in you too."

Aydi realised he hadn't introduced himself while the others had already known each other by names. He decided to fix it right away.

"I am Aydi al-Qais, by the way." He covered his mishap with a big smile. "I wonder, how complicated is archery?"

Ali chuckled. "No, by all means, believe in him. I'm afraid I'm quite honest about what I can and can't do. Although I'd be interested to see you draw a bow."

"Ali ibn Farid." Ali gave the new man a nod. "At your service."

He scratched his chin with one hand. "Well... it's not complicated, exactly. It's pretty much just aim and release. But it takes a lot of practice. Might be hard to get that in before the competition, if that's what you're thinking."

Tarset nodded her head toward Aydi in acknowledgement. "Martial arts are always more complicated than they appear."

She then glanced to Ali, brow furrowing a bit. "...I am not much of an artist, but I could give it a go."

Ali frowned thoughtfully, arms crossed as he considered.

Then he nodded. "Come by the competition tomorrow. They may have a bow you can use. If not, you can use mine a bit."

He nodded to her again, up and down her form. "More height can mean a taller bow, which can mean a deeper draw. Which can mean more power, once you've got the form down." He shrugged. "I've got a pretty strong draw, but I bet I could do better if I was half a head taller."

Nasim didn't seem to mind the notion of the Senpet woman terrifying any who would stand against him. At Ali's explanation of bow mechanics however the man let out a low whistle.

"For a man not greatly talented in the art you know quite a bit." He says with a slight smirk.

"It seems to me that modesty and humility are amply represented in this conversation. Befitting the place, I can say." Aydi chuckled mirthfully.

Tarset thought over the offer before shrugging, having realized they weren't talking about pictures. "I could certainly give it a try, though don't think it'll be more than seeing how it goes. I'll leave making fools on one's self to you both... or three."

Aydi hadn't said what his role would be tomorrow, but perhaps she'd stumbled upon a full gaggle of archers.

"Oh, I don't plan on competing, Sayyeda. If I am to become more widely known, I'd rather be recognised as a good detective than as an abysmal archer." He laughed quietly.
