The Cat yawns itself awake (EA-Cat's tail, day 1)

Lunchtime was here and it soon would bring those looking for respite, coffee and food. Bazir overed near the kitchen for a while to make sure everything was properly prepared before returning to the front.

''There is a contest coming soon'' he said to his waiting staff with a large ''If we play our cards right we can hope to attract those coming to participate or observe the event. So stay sharp!''

He clapped his hands

''Yala! Let's open for lunch!''

After putting in a hard day's work at the store, surely who could work for more than a few hours? Qasim thought a nice cup of coffee would be perfect to relax, perhaps a nice tabouleh to fend off hunger until dinner time.

The Dahabi walked into the Cafe still wearing some of his finest clothing, a deep purple silk kaftan trimmed in gold thread, his long black hair contained rings of gold in it and was held back by a purple ribbon.

He found a table and sat giving his order to a server and then looked around with a sharp eye but a soft smile. Those that ventured close would smell the woody floral scent of Oud wrapped around the man lightly.

Arash entered the café, his stomach grumbling. He debated having lunch at home with his sister, but decided to do an outing later to take some food to the maze. Before that though, the hero himself needs some food.

Arash haven't decided on a place to sit yet, standing stoically in the middle, just taking in all the smells.

Qasim saw the man enter but not yet choose a place to sit, he would try to catch his eye and motion to a free spot across from him. An invitation to share his table.

Arash saw and smiled and moved closer.

"Greetings sidi." He said with a slight accent. "Here for a quick lunch?"

[Qasim al-Basiri]

Qasim smiled and rose motioning once again to the seat across from him "Hello friend, I am indeed. Maybe more for the coffee but a nice tabouleh never goes unappreciated." He says with a chuckle

"But please join me. Good coffee, like many of life's small pleasures are better when enjoyed in company."

While some might be slowly waking up still, or looking for a quiet start to the middle of the day, some others were not as quiet. Walking with a few others from the caravan, the exoticly dressed Ra'shari had a skip in her step as she chatted away in Ra'Shari. She always enjoyed coming back to the city. Although it lacked the colourful vibrance of the caravans it had its own charm.

Like the little establisment that caught her attention. A cafe with an open roof? How nice!

The Ra'shari woman gave her friends a smile and a wave, then ducked into the cafe - looking very out of place in her almost glittering blue outfit - and looked around with a curious eye

Arash sat down towards the indicated seat. "Ah yes." He smiled in return. "The coffee is quite nice, certainly. It's not something we often get at home. The tea is better, though." He leaned back and waited for a server to come. "Arash Karuvah, at your pleasure."

He noticed the woman entering, it was hard not to, amongst all the glitter, after all. And nodded towards her. He recognized the features of a Ra'Shari, and smiled towards her.

Bazir was keeping things running smoothly when he noticed the richly dressed man order...and he made sure he would get priority: He was not sure if he was dahabi or not but he would not take chances.

While the staff got itself busy rushing the order Bazir himself moved to the front of the house as the Ra'shari walked in.

''Good afternoon sayyeda, how can The Cat's Tail be of service'' he said with a smile

Qasim smiled and nodded "Ah yes the teas of the Kingdom of Ivory are indeed of impeccable quality. Not as many here in the Jewel have a taste for them but they sell well enough." He replied in the other man's native tongue. Qasim clearly had an accent but he was fluent in the language it would seem.

"This one is Qasim al-Basiri a not so humble son of the House of Dahab. It is a pleasure to meet you Arash. What pulls you away from the glittering and bright spires of your home?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
