Tales of the Jewel

A mix of new construction, ancient catacombs and caverns, and ruins from before Shilah's Wrath the sewers of Medinaat al-Salaam are a vast labyrinth that spans the entire city and perhaps beyond. Through them one can access nearly anywhere in the city virtually unseen and quite quickly if they are acquainted with the proper routes.

Those who do not know the proper routes, however, can potentially be lost for hours if not days... and that is the least of ones worries. All know that the sewers are filled with countless foul creatures with ghuls being the most numerous. Those rare individuals who know of the Jackals or of the Assassins also know that both groups sometimes turn drier and cleaner sections of the catacombs into makeshift strongholds. One can never be certain what eyes are watching and waiting in the dark.

As such only the most foolish, brave, or powerful dare risk utilizing these routes no matter how tempting they might otherwise be.
