Day 5, LM - A New Start (closed)

[Soraya al-Menjari]

That got more blinks... then a small frown, "Like it is made of shadow? Stories of things like that all say they are dangerous. I hope you are careful with it. Anything that fears the light of Shilah in mythology tend to be secretive or corrupt. Not that I can imagine how a carpet might be either of those things on its own."

[Raya]

"Am being careful. Did not believe thing that said offer existed, so said give magic carpet as joke. Turns out was real, and magic carpet real. Is very strange, can fly but if sees light it hides. Am thinking just need way to make it not see light and would work like normal magic carpet."

Raya frowned.

"Was not thinking it might be dangerous. Will be more careful."

[Soraya al-Menjari]

"Careful is good, though I'll not tell you to get rid of the thing. There's being careful and there's being overprotective. And I trust you to make the right decisions for yourself. ...plus, it WOULD be very neat to have a flying carpet of your own, no?"

She said the last part with a little cheeky grin. Apparently, if Soraya was worried about the shadow carpet, it wasn't too strongly.

[Raya]

The grin on Soraya's face was matched by one of her own.

"Yes! Is what I was thinking, having magic carpet would be exciting. Create really fun adventures, flying through sky and looking at world from height cannot reach normally. Was why am hoping can find way to fly even when moon out."

[Soraya al-Menjari]

Sora nodded, "Although... if it was dark enough, it really wouldn't be much of a view..."

More clandestine purposes of a flying carpet having not really crossed her mind.

[Raya]

There was a nod.

"Is true not much can be seen if dark, although would also not be seen either. However, was why wanted to see if there had been stories of magic carpets like this. Want to see if just hiding carpet so it cannot see light would stop it vanishing when light is out. Maybe putting normal carpet on magic carpet so it is covered?"

[Soraya al-Menjari]

"So inside a covering? That's not a bad idea at all. If it can carry a person it can probably easily carry a few extra layers, after all. Otherwise...."

Sora think a moment before smiling, "Otherwise, could test its limitations first, see how much light is too much, what kinds of light, hiw much weight it can carry... and so forth."

[Raya]

Raya nodded, it was a good thought.

"Have tested just myself on and was no issue. Vanished though when moon came out from behind cloud, and fell to sand. Not long fall though. Can show you later at night? If you are having any time to spare later. Would also need to find rug to cover it."

[Soraya al-Menjari]

"I know a few good rug merchants I can see about getting something from... Well, at least it sounds as if it isn't ANY light, since it sounds like the stars were out. So it might not need to be as lightproof as I worried about."

[Raya]

"That would be good. Then we can go flying together yes?"

Raya sat up slightly so she could look over Soraya, a smile on her lips.

"A whole world just for us! Would be great yes?"
