Hunger Abated (EN, The Sewers, Event)

[Al-Haddar]

Al-Haddar looked left. Looked right. Looked backward. Looked in front.

Wondered how exactly he had found himself at the secret reunion of magicians and monsters.

And decided to carefully and silently back down in direction of the exit, one ear opened just in case, but feet very much ready to depart at the tiniest sign of "he's seen too much!".

Hunger Abated, investigate for the necromancer's corpse, injured (-15 included in roll) | 5k3-15 ⇒ 5(did not see Faruq healed me so I am at -5, not -15...so that'd be 15)

The man does not seem to carry much on him. A battered chest plate (partial armor), a knife of Senpet design (1k1), and a small charm satchel.

(If trying to keep any of these things hidden as the other man approaches it would be Sleight of Hand vs Faruq's 20 investigation.)

"Terribly wrong. This put the whole city at risk", he said in a voice that left no doubt that we was very serious and very vexed about the whole thing.

"The... neighbourhood of Sahir magic?" He seemed to wonder for a moment. "Again... I'm no expert in the northern folk, but many things here suggest the man either was a Senpet, or at least had close ties to them at some point. Maybe that could be the source of the differences?"

Seeing Bazir move towards where the corpse was, Faruq excused himself from Qara. "Ah... excuse me, Sayyeda.. there's something uncomfortable but possibly important that needs doing. I'll be back in a while.".

He then walks over to where the body is and gets down in the muck himself again.

"Certainly. Even the Houses of Dahab were assailed by ghuls. This is quite frankly, terrible. A senpet? Was that the tongue he was speaking?" She pondered in thought.

"Yes, please go, don't worry. We shall talk more."

"Sayyid. Can I help you move him up here? If he's not alone... he might still be holding important hints on that"

The Grandiose Akbar was already holding the knife and the satchel, inspecting them, when the 'unknown' sahir came to meet him.

''Why of course sayyed. Perhaps you would have better luck then me?'' he then visibly, to Faruq at least, tucked the knife and satchel away before bringing the corpse over.

"...worth trying if it may avoid future trouble, I suppose", the man said while they moved the body, then set to inspecting the body himself.

The charm satchel is the type that would hold something sewed up within it. The knife, while well made, doesn't seem to hold any strange markings or suggestions of power.

With those two items removed all that remains, other than tattered cloths, is the breastplate - now covered in dents from the various magical and mundane stones it had been pelted with.

The man himself is relatively non-descript, minus the sewage you wouldn't have thought twice if walking by him in the streets. His hair is shaved down to the scalp and his skin is dark though already with a somewhat pallid tone of someone who spent much time in darkness and squalor without concern for oneself.

"Nothing besides the results of the fight", he answers, some worry and frustration clear on his voice.

"The only thing that seems clear here", he adds, gesturing to the whole scene "is some Senpet influence. Some of the tools he used... they seem to be of Senpet origin. But that might just reveal where he originally came from. Not a specialist, but... I would guess this is not a traditional Senpet rite. Chances are something like this would have happened before otherwise."

A long sigh.

"I suppose I'm just worrying too much. Might be just a madman acting alone..."

Wishful thinking? Possibly.

''I will investigate the matter'' the djinn masked man replied as he stood up ''If there is anything to be found, we will.''

He tilted his head

''Depending on what we find...'' he chuckled ''...we might work together for a third time in the future sayyed''

The man looked at him somewhat askance, but in the end gave him a small smile. "If there is something more to this threatening the city and the common folk? 'll be happy to help, Sayyid." He looked at the grisly laboratory again. "I... will try to look into some matters too. Although from your words... I suspect you may be in a better position for that", he added with an uncertain grin.
