Tales of the Jewel

Fasting grows harder as the festival continues for all who truly partake. Those fasting during the day alone find no clouds to spare them the heat of Shilah's gaze while those fasting throughout must fight the hunger churning inside of them.

The falsely pious, of course, continue as they always have.

Characters may participate in both this event and Nobody is Safe despite the same timeslot (not eating is not eating)

Choose one of the following approaches if participating in the fast:

A Minor Sacrifice:

Make a Meditation (Fasting)/Stamina roll vs TN15.

Success earns 1 Day Point, failure adds +2 to the TN of all rolls until you have eaten (LA at the earliest).

Characters with Bad Health, Large, or Touched by the Realm of the Hungry Dead add +5 to the TN of this roll. Characters with Ascetic reduce the TN by 5.

A Major Sacrifice:

No previous Major Sacrifices so cannot continue with this option.

A False Sacrifice:

Make a Sincerity (Deceit)/Awareness roll TN15 and a Investigation (Notice)/Perception roll TN10.

If you pass both rolls gain 1 Day Point for every 2 raises called between both rolls. If you fail Sincerity you receive no benefit nor penalty. If you pass Sincerity but fail Investigation you gain +0.1 Infamous Reputation and an addition +0.1 for each called raise.

Characters with Can't Lie or Idealistic cannot take this option. Characters with Disbeliever add +5 to the TN of their Sincerity roll. Characters with Wary reduce the TN of the Investigation roll by 5.

Magic may only apply to A False Sacrifice and subtle casting is required to avoid repercussions.

Qara fasted like the other day, politely taking part of the festivity. In a way.

Al-Haddar was feeling far more hungry than usual this year. Probably had something to do with the fact he didn't have to face ghuls at night on normal years, a quite calorie intensive exercise if you intended to stay alive.

Somehow, it's been made clear to Rettousei that he's not supposed to eat. So he doesn't--but he's missed meals before. Sensei sometimes withheld food when he did poorly in lessons.

He did poorly in many lessons.
